Application Specialist Scanning Electron Microscopy (f/m/x) – temporary position (12 months)

Your RoleAs Application Specialist for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with a focus on life science, you will inspire our customers through your technical expertise and passion for innovation. You will play a key role in demonstrating, developing, and advancing SEM applications to deliver an outstanding customer experience as part of a diverse team of 30 application specialists from a broad range of scientific backgrounds at the ZEISS Microscopy Customer Center Europe.
Conduct SEM product demonstrations and hands-on customer trainings focused on life science applications
Develop and present application materials and contribute to application development projects
Provide expert consultation to customers, sales, marketing, and product management teams
Support the validation of new SEM products in close collaboration with product management and R&D
Actively contribute to customer workshops, conferences, and technical events
Share your insights to continuously enhance customer satisfaction and application excellence
University degree in life sciences (e.g. biology, neuroscience, biomedicine, bioengineering, or related fields)
Proven expertise in operating scanning electron microscopes (SEM), experience in biological specimen preparation for electron microscopy and ultramicrotomy
Proficiency in image processing and analysis tools
Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, customer orientation, and fluency in English (written and spoken)
Willingness to travel internationally
