Position Overview
The MDM Developer will be a key technical contributor responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting our enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) platform across customer, supplier, contact, and item domains. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills in MDM development, SQL, and data integration, combined with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with business users, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Working under the guidance of the MDM Lead and Support Manager, this position will focus on writing high-quality code, implementing new features, resolving incidents, and ensuring platform stability through rigorous testing and adherence to organizational processes.
Key Responsibilities MDM Development & Enhancement
- Develop and implement new MDM capabilities and features
- Write high-quality, maintainable MDM code following best practices
- Implement data integration solutions to synchronize data across systems
- Configure and customize MDM platform components
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data processing and analysis
Code Quality & Testing
- Write and maintain unit tests for all code changes
- Execute system integration testing (SIT) and support UAT activities
- Maintain and execute regression test cases to ensure platform stability
- Debug and troubleshoot code issues
- Refactor and optimize existing code for performance improvements
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback
Incident Resolution & Support
- Triage and resolve data issues within established SLAs
- Investigate and fix defects reported by users
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues
- Support production incidents and provide timely resolutions
- Document issue resolutions and update knowledge base
Data Management & Migration
- Support data migration activities and bulk update operations
- Assist with onboarding new systems, organizations, and datasets
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues
- Execute data reconciliation across multiple systems
- Ensure data integrity throughout integration activities
Process Adherence & Documentation
- Follow organizational processes for requirements, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups
- Complete assigned user stories within sprint commitments
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Document code changes and update release notes
- Adhere to change management and deployment procedures
Collaboration & Communication
- Work effectively with business users to understand requirements
- Collaborate with vendor resources and offshore teams
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly
- Support demos and sprint reviews
- Work across cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
Security & Compliance
- Follow secure coding practices
- Address security vulnerabilities identified in code reviews
- Ensure SOX compliance for all code changes
- Participate in security testing activities
- Implement data protection and privacy controls
Required Qualifications Experience
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in MDM development or related fields
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality code in production environments
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Demonstrated ability to work with business users and cross-functional teams
Technical Skills
- MDM Platform Experience: Hands-on experience developing with at least one MDM platform (e.g., Informatica MDM, SAP MDM, or similar)
- SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL skills for complex queries, data analysis, and optimization
- Data Integration: Experience developing data integration solutions and ETL processes
- Coding Skills: Proficiency in writing, debugging, and refactoring code
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues
- Testing: Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing
Software Development Discipline
- Understanding of the complete software development lifecycle
- Experience with requirements analysis and technical design
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Understanding of change management processes
- Experience with post-production validation and support
Communication & Collaboration
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
