- The Professional, Software Engineering job designs, develops and maintains software applications and systems for the SAP Basis platform. With minimal supervision, this job collaborates with cross functional teams to define, design and implement new services and applications to meet user needs and business goals, and upgrade existing software to improve performance and functionality through writing clean, efficient and scalable code and troubleshooting and debugging complex issues. This job also participates in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge with software engineering team members. This is an innovation role where the engineer is expected to research new technologies and architectures, propose solutions, and demonstrate solution architecture skills and deliverables.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage SAP BASIS operations across multiple environments (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, etc.).
- Ensure system performance, availability, and security through proactive monitoring and tuning.
- Drive strategic governance for SAP platforms, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Oversee integration between SAP BTP and Integration Suite, enabling seamless connectivity across systems.
- Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical projects.
- Provide expert guidance on SAP architecture, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- 3+ years of experience with SAP BASIS Administration: Installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of SAP HANA, S/4HANA, and Solution Manager.
- Expertise in system monitoring, transport management, and security administration.
Good-to-Have Skills
- ABAP: Basic debugging and performance optimization.
- SAP Fiori: Understanding of app deployment and configuration.
- Familiarity with SAP BTP services, Integration Suite, and cloud integration scenarios.
