Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced EDI Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare EDI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Edifecs tools and a solid understanding of healthcare EDI transactions and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain maps and flows for healthcare EDI transactions.
- Work on healthcare EDI transactions such as 837 (P/I/D), 835, 270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 834, 820, PACDR
- Design and maintain data transformations between X12, XML, JSON, and flat files.
- Support trading partner integrations (VAN, SFTP, etc.) and backend data exchange.
- Configure and support batch and real-time processing
- Perform EDI validation, error handling, and troubleshooting
- Work closely with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to understand requirements
- Support production issues, root cause analysis, and defect fixes
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, X12 5010, and other regulatory standards
- Participate in testing, deployment, and post-production support activities
- Document technical designs and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with EDI tools (ITX/EDIFECS)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI standards (X12, HIPAA)
- Experience with (SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, XEngine/ Design Studio, Launcher, ITX runtime)
- Good understanding of EDI compliance, validations, and mapping guidelines.
- Hands-on experience in EDI validations, acknowledgments (999, 277CA)
- Experience with batch processing and real-time EDI flows
- Good understanding of healthcare domain concepts (claims, eligibility, payments)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills
Good to Have
- Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
- Knowledge of SQL and database tracking
- Experience with production support and on-call rotations
- Understanding of payer/provider workflows
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
