KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

This position plays a strategic role in accelerating APAC Automotive segment growth by leading segment-focused market development, customer opportunity identification, and cross-functional commercial execution. In addition, this role serves as the primary APAC contact for project governance to support regional business growth and drive commercial excellence.

Automotive Segment Leadership (70%)

  • Market  Intelligence: 
  • Build a deep understanding of APAC automative value chain, customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging technology trends.
  • Monitor industry developments and identify growth opportunities, and transfer market shifts into actionable growth opportunities.
  • Opportunity Development: 
  • Partner with sales and technical teams to convert customer needs into qualified opportunities and healthy pipeline.
  • Lead regular opportunities review and track key projects to accelerate commercial growth.
  • Segment Strategy & Execution: 
  • Act as the key APAC marketing interface for the Automotive segment by leading to the execution of segment strategy and aligning priorities across Sales, R&D, Product Management, and Operations.
  • Provide structured innovation/project support for new automotive applications and contribute to the segment 5-year growth plan by defining opportunity spaces, growth levers, and execution priorities.

Functional Responsibility (30%)

  • End-to-End Project Management: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Lead cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations) through the standard stage-gate process from initiation to commercialization.
  • Resource & Risk Management: Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources effectively, and proactively identify bottlenecks. Formulate mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate regular project review meetings, track KPIs, and provide transparent status reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical and/or Marketing degree, with >8 years of professional marketing experience.
  • Solid automotive segment experience is required, preferably with exposure to chemical/material solutions, OEM/Tier value chains, EV-related applications, or automotive innovation projects.
  • Capacity to translate information into business opportunities & threats
  • Good influencing, listening and communications skills, with a proven ability to influence multiple stakeholders in a global arena
  • Capability of working with remote teams
  • Take ownership & accountability for results
  • Solution & result oriented skills with a team player attitude
  • Native Mandarin, English fluency, 3rd language as a plus
