The Group:
Morningstar's Business Development & Sales group helps advisor and institutional clients grow their businesses and deliver better outcomes for investors, across Advisor, Asset Management, Retirement, and Redistribution segments.
The Role:
This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, pricing, and contract execution, acting as a senior subject matter expert on deal structuring, pricing, and contract management. You will report to the Director of Deal Design.
You'll manage a steady volume of deal and contract support requests, from straightforward renewals to complex multi-product negotiations, while contributing to process improvement and documentation. Based in Singapore, with 4 days per week in office.
Responsibilities:
Deal Support & Pricing
Manage a queue of pricing and deal support requests from sales, responding accurately and within agreed turnaround times
Apply established pricing guidelines and principled negotiation frameworks to evaluate and structure commercial proposals. Escalate complex or out-of-policy deals where necessary.
Partner with sales on opportunities, coaching on deal rationale and client-facing messaging
Build working knowledge of Morningstar's product catalog, client segments, and commercial models
Rate Cards & Process
Drive Rate Card adoption through training, feedback loops, and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with pricing processes; develop targeted training to close gaps
Partner with Corporate Systems to improve contract and deal processing tools (e.g., Salesforce)
Contract Management & Execution
Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle for new, renewal, and amendment agreements
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts in alignment with internal policies
Review sales-drafted contracts prior to client submission for accuracy and compliance
Support seller contract negotiations with clients via email and calls
Identify non-standard terms, assess risk, and escalate to Legal or business stakeholders as appropriate
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships across Sales, Regional Operations, Product, Legal, and Finance
Contribute to cross-functional commercial workstreams and GTM initiatives
Qualifications
At least 5 years in deal desk, contract management/commercial legal support, sales/revenue operations, or pricing
Ability to balance commercial objectives with risk management and policy compliance
Comfortable managing multiple workstreams under deadline pressure
Clean, professional communicator across sales, ops, legal, leadership, and client calls
Analytical and detail-oriented; strong Excel and Salesforce skills; CPQ familiarity a plus
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
