What You'll Do:
This AP Analyst position reports to the Assistant Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, owning the entire AP Cycle with regards to receiving, verifying and processing invoices related to accounts payable. This is a fully remote position in the Albuquerque area, however the employee must be able to make multiple trips to the office every week for mail duties and delivery of checks, and to FedEx as necessary.
Responsibilities:

  • Use a third-party software to sync vendors and enter invoices for multiple entities
  • Handle mail duties at the office including opening, sorting and scanning invoices
  • Prepare weekly payment runs; validate, record and send checks, including expedited special handling for payroll and tax items
  • Manage multiple email inboxes
  • Work with new vendors for required onboarding documents such as W-9 and banking information
  • Perform daily and weekly cash postings
  • Manage cash payments throughout month to ensure all payments are properly recorded for month-end reconciliations, research missing items
  • Run month-end reports
  • Troubleshoot incorrect postings, lost invoices, and misapplied payments
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Manage other duties as assigned
  • Research items as necessary
  • Communicate with vendor managers as necessary to verify data
  • Continually look for ways to be proactive, improve, and own the AP process


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 5 years' experience as an AP Analyst, AP Clerk or other related position
  • Foundational knowledge of NetSuite and Concur or other similar ERP/Expense Management system
  • Previous experience with foreign currency is a plus
  • Excellent professional communications skills, including having the confidence to question items that do not look correct
  • Strong computer skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, can work with large amounts of data in an efficient way
  • Solid understanding of cash handling
  • Highly detail-oriented, responsive, efficient and organized
  • Must have basic knowledge of accounting concepts including GL coding, and debits and credits
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and employees
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment, but also work well remotely
