Support the delivery of BI reporting solutions by working with experienced analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders. You will help translate business requirements into reports and dashboards while learning enterprise data modeling, governance, and BI best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders and senior team members to understand reporting needs and help translate them into basic report requirements, KPIs, and user stories.
- Assist in building Power BI reports and dashboards following established design standards and reusable templates.
- Support the development of the semantic model by helping define basic measures, calculations, and data relationships under guidance.
- Collaborate with data engineers to understand data sources and assist in validating data structures and transformations.
- Help identify data quality issues and support basic reconciliation and validation activities with Operations teams.
- Develop and maintain simple to moderately complex DAX measures with guidance, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Learn and apply best practices for report performance (e.g., efficient DAX, data model structure, basic optimization techniques).
- Use Git-based workflows (branches, pull requests) to version and deploy Power BI assets with supervision.
- Follow internal standards for naming conventions, documentation, and report structure.
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and contribute to team delivery.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience or strong academic/project experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
- Understanding of Power BI components (Power Query, DAX, datasets, reports).
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts (e.g., tables, relationships, star schema basics).
- SQL knowledge
- Experience with Figma and an understanding of dashboard and user interface design principles
- Proficiency in Python programming, particularly in data processing and analysis
- Familiarity with GIT for version control is an advantage
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn from feedback.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Basic understanding of data warehousing or ETL concepts.
- Experience in analytics or reporting.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms or BI tools beyond Power BI.
