Mō te tūranga | About the Role

As an Analytics and Insights Specialist at Westpac, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the bank’s strategies and initiatives. You’ll leverage data to deliver actionable insights and recommendations across the product portfolio and customer journey, helping drive improved business outcomes. A key part of the role will involve supporting the enablement of Westpac NZ's foundational data assets, ensuring trusted, reusable data underpins analytics, reporting, and decision‑making.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about improving performance and understands how to apply analytics to solve real business problems. You’ll be confident and energetic in influencing decisions and actions through clear, evidence‑based insights. Strong problem‑solving skills, the ability to build effective relationships, and a high attention to detail are essential to delivering value in this role.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

• Experience working with complex data and delivering high‑quality reporting to support decision‑making in a large, complex organisation

• Strong ability to build and manage effective relationships with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams

• 3+ years’ experience using SAS and SQL to deliver business insights

• Experience developing insights and reporting

• Proven experience translating business requirements into data solutions, from analysis through to delivery and implementation

• Knowledge of the financial services industry, including an understanding of key banking metrics and performance measures (desirable)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to a range of audiences
