The Experience

The Product Growth & GTM Strategy team is part of Salesforce’s Corporate Strategy organization, and partners with Product Management executives to drive business growth, Go-To-Market execution, strategic planning, business analysis, and growth across our product portfolio. The Analyst role is a hybrid of traditional roles in strategic planning, sales strategy, finance, and analytics – requiring a mix of market & business analysis, sales optimization, and business operational support. This analyst will work on a variety of global projects across functions and customer segments across our Sales Cloud and Revenue Cloud product offerings.

Sample strategic projects include developing recommendations on go-to-market strategy, growth opportunities, customer segmentation, sales coverage, and investment prioritization. Operationally, the focus will be on forecasting, market sizing, performance trend analysis, sales pipeline analysis, and formulation of actionable recommendations. This person must feel comfortable interacting with senior management on a regular basis.

Deliverables include detailed analytic models, custom performance analysis, building a scalable reporting infrastructure, and packaging findings into presentation-ready content for Salesforce executives. The role requires interaction with multiple functional teams in the organization (such as Sales, Product Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Success) and provides exposure to senior executives. The successful candidate will have relentless curiosity and possess a passion for creating innovative analysis to identify opportunities. They will be comfortable diving into large datasets, excel at extracting insights from data, and converting ideas to action. They will be driven to build scalable analysis, leveraging opportunities to automate and streamline processes using the latest tools and features available.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Lead ongoing analysis of business performance to support daily operations

  • Design and interpret key performance metrics. Deliver insights & recommendations

  • Maintain weekly forecasts of business performance for product leadership

  • Assist in developing and delivering presentations for senior executives, crafting the messages for sales and product leadership

  • Support strategic initiatives including evaluating areas of opportunity for the businesses

  • Troubleshooting operational issues as they surface; propose changes to systems/ processes to fix root causes

  • Prepare analysis and recommendations for strategic decision making

  • Partner with peer analysts to innovate and automate work processes using the latest analytics and AI tools, including Tableau Next, Claude, Slackbot AI, and Gemini

You're Our Person If...

  • 2+ years' of experience (Analyst) and 4+ years' of experience (Senior Analyst) focused on quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and logical reasoning

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand

  • Exceptional problem solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions

  • High degree of comfort running complex analyses and modeling in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Strong presentation skills, especially related to building compelling PowerPoint or Google Slides presentations

  • Work experience in management consulting, finance, product management, sales strategy, or sales operations is a plus

  • Experience aggregating large datasets using SQL, Python, and / or Tableau required 

  • Experience automating and streamlining data analytics using AI tools a plus

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $80,900 - $150,300 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $97,400 - $163,500 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
