About us:
Our teams are putting the world’s retailers online using the cloud, robotics, AI, and IoT. We provide services to partner clients globally via our innovative advanced robotics technology, known as the Ocado Smart Platform ("OSP"), this drives our highly automated, multi-million-pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs). In our CFCs - together with the proprietary software applications - we operate a world-class online grocery business that automates the single pick of products, ready for your online delivery.

About the role:
Provide data reporting, analysis and visualisation, to help drive data based decision making. You will provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders in the wider Zoom by Ocado team. This position reports to the Analytics Manager and, will form part of the Planning and Performance team within Zoom by Ocado.

This position is based at our Hatfield Head Office, with a 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday. It is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week at the Head Office and occasional travel to one of our Zoom London locations.

You will be:
The Analyst will develop and maintain reporting systems to deliver actionable insights that help drive business decisions. By identifying and understanding key business drivers they create performance reports and present data in visually accessible and insightful formats to enable better decision-making. This role is responsible for identifying trends and analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team has a clear view of performance metrics and drives continuous improvement.

In this role, the analyst will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency by analysing data sets to identify areas for improvement. They will offer data-driven recommendations and collaborate with the wider team to implement and execute these strategies. The analyst will also track results, report on outcomes, and ensure continuous improvement. A key responsibility will be maintaining the accuracy, availability, and usability of data. This involves ensuring that data sets and reports are reliable and accurate, as well as supporting the consolidation and distribution of data from multiple sources across the logistics function in collaboration with technology teams. Following best practices in security management in all data-related tasks to ensure data integrity and compliance is crucial to this role.

Collaboration will be a central part of the role, as it involves working closely with a range of stakeholders across the business. The Analyst will contribute to cross-departmental projects with a strong data or analytics component, presenting results to the relevant stakeholders. By understanding and supporting the data needs of different stakeholders, they will fulfill operational reporting requests and help drive informed decision-making throughout the organisation.

Minimum:

  • Proven experience in problem analysis, identifying root causes, assessing impacts, and driving effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy and precision in data analysis, reducing errors and improving reporting quality.
  • Exposure to SQL or other programming languages, along with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams or liaising between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred (in addition to minimum):

  • Previous experience as an analyst, handling large datasets and performing technical analysis.
  • Experience in developing and using data visualisation tools.
  • Background in a logistics environment.
