Purpose and Job Summary:
This role is responsible for supporting the Boston Financial (BF) Fund Accounting Team in preparing and maintaining quarterly and annual financial reports, various reconciliations, and annual tax return schedules of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Funds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares quarterly journal entries in conjunction with the quarterly Fund financial reporting process.
- Prepares quarterly and annual Fund financial statements and supporting workpapers.
- Interacts directly with Fund auditors to handle open items on assigned group of Funds.
- Assists BF’s Asset Managers and Fund Managers in resolving audit issues that arise on Lower-Tier property partnerships and resolution of investor accounting questions with guidance from more experienced team members.
- Prepares annual Fund tax trial balances and tax return supporting schedules.
- Prepares various quarterly reconciliations.
- Performs ad hoc requests and projects as assigned.

Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline, required
- Knowledge of GAAP required.
- Ability to learn, and effectively use and deploy, proprietary databases, applications, and related reporting tools, as required
- Experience using Epicor or other accounting software, preferred
- 1-2 years of direct experience in accounting/finance field, preferred
- Experience with financial statement preparation, preferred
- Ability to actively engage with other team members as part of a collaborative environment.
- Ability to produce clear and effective communications for a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to organize, prioritize assignments, and to meet established deadlines.
- Intermediate MS Excel skills with the ability to clean and manage data sets; group data appropriately; create lookups and pivot tables; create, modify, and format charts; filter data and manage filtered lists; perform multiple sorting; use basic logical functions (VLOOKUP, IF, IS, etc.)
- Basic to Intermediate MSWord skills with the ability to create, edit, and save documents; perform searches; format documents; create and edit tables; insert graphics and hyperlinks
