In Financial Services, we support the Group’s strategy of building tomorrow’s bank today for our customers, through a focus on three key priorities of trust, resilience and capital generation.
Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy and investor relations.
Within Financial Services, Operations Finance, a team of ~50 finance professionals, is responsible for the provision of financial control and financial management services to the Chief Operations Office (COO), Support Units and Corporate Services (Property & Procurement).
Within Operations Finance our Business Unit (BU) Operations Finance team partners with the COO Processing teams that support Retail, Business Banking and Institutional Banking & Markets, with ~3000 FTE, a cost base of circa AUD 500 million and is a key enabler of the Group Strategy.
We work closely with our stakeholders across the Group including Operations, Business Divisions, Group Finance and the Group Transformation Office to help them understand their operations costs and deliver current and future strategic and financial plans.

This role is primarily responsible for assisting the Senior Manager to provide financial support to Business, Institutional and Markets Operations (BIMO). This team provides back and middle office support for the Business Bank (BB) and Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) business units within CBA. The role may also assists the Retail Operations area in order to provide broader development and cross-team coverage.
The varied nature of this role allows exposure to a number of business leaders across both business and finance and is an excellent foundation in understanding the inner workings of the Group.
You will partner closely with finance colleagues & leaders to:
- provide information and analysis in support of efficient and effective management of the business;
- make contributions to enhance and manage the risk framework of the bank;
- facilitate the execution of Operations Finance strategic initiatives and demonstrate our high performance culture
Key duties will include:
- Monthly management reporting, variance analysis and commentary
- Driver based annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Business stakeholder management
- Providing commercial and strategic financial insights to stakeholders
- Maintenance of rigorous financial control, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Involvement in ad-hoc financial analysis and broader insights to drive tangible value
- Identification and implementation of ongoing process improvements
- Positively contribute to team culture and the work environment
We're interested in hearing from people who have
- CA/CPA qualification
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, problem solving skills, and commercial acumen
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with SQL and Tableau desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
- Innovative and able to drive results
