AlphaNode, an AI-driven high-finance technology company, is seeking an exceptionally skilled and passionate Head of Engineering to lead the development and execution of our cutting-edge AI products and platforms tailored for finance professionals. This pivotal role demands an individual who is obsessed with security, highly proficient in data management, and expert in the latest AI/ML and LLM technologies.  
 
The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, oversee cross-functional engineering teams, and collaborate closely with product and leadership to deliver AI solutions that maximize impact and value for our clients. A proven track record of building high-performance teams and AI-powered financial technologies is essential. 
 

What You’ll Do 
 

• Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for AI-driven financial products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and continuous innovation. 

• Embrace and implement the latest AI technologies, understanding their capabilities and limitations to leverage them effectively in production settings. 

• Oversee the development and deployment of advanced AI/ML models and large language model (LLM) architectures. 

• Demonstrate deep proficiency in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, prompting strategies, and traditional AI workflows. 

• Implement strategies to minimize hallucinations and ensure the reliability of LLM outputs in production environments. 

• Lead efforts in managing diverse data types (structured and unstructured), including ETL processes, dataset merging, RAG pipelines, and vector databases. 

• Utilize data virtualization techniques to unify data sources into a central system, optimizing data processes to extract maximal value. 

• Champion a zero-tolerance approach to data breaches and leaks, implementing robust, state-of-the-art security protocols to protect sensitive financial information. 

• Ensure all engineering practices adhere to the highest security standards, maintaining trust and integrity in all data handling processes. 

• Leverage Agentic AI frameworks in production to create trustworthy and “on rails” Finance agents, enhancing automation and decision-making processes. 

• Write and ship high-quality code at a rapid pace, building foundational elements while remaining adaptable to scale as the team grows. 

• Maintain a hands-on approach to coding while mentoring team members to achieve similar proficiency. 

• Recruit, mentor, and build a team of high-caliber engineers who thrive in ambiguity, are motivated by solving complex problems, and excel in a fast-paced environment. 

• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. 

• Work closely with product and leadership teams to align technical efforts with business goals, ensuring engineering initiatives focus on high-impact areas that drive growth and customer adoption. 

• Develop and maintain a secure, scalable infrastructure capable of supporting rapid iteration cycles and the deployment of complex AI models. 

• Ensure data integrity and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.  

 
Who You Are 
 

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within AI-driven SaaS or fintech startups. 

• Proven track record of implementing and maintaining robust security measures in high-trust environments. 

• Expertise in handling structured and unstructured data, ETL processes, dataset merging, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and data virtualization technologies. 

• Experience with data virtualization or equivalent approaches. 

• Deep understanding of large language models (LLMs), machine learning architectures, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines. 

• Experience in deploying LLMs to wrangle structured data and maintain output quality in production settings. 

• Ideally, experience working with Agentic AI frameworks in production to develop trustworthy finance or functionally similar agents. 

• Ability to develop and manage both frontend and backend systems, ensuring seamless integration of AI models with end-user applications. 

• Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, build and scale engineering departments, and mentor engineers to reach their full potential. 

• Demonstrated ability to rapidly produce high-quality code, balancing hands-on technical contributions with strategic leadership. 

• Potential to transition into higher leadership roles, such as CTO, as the company scales. 

• Strong passion for solving complex, high-impact problems in a dynamic environment where direction may be limited. 

• Strong familiarity with the unique security, compliance, and performance challenges in financial technology or related industries. 

• Data Architecture and Cloud Infrastructure: 

• Experience designing scalable cloud-based infrastructures capable of handling complex AI models and large volumes of data efficiently. 

• Ability to optimize and apply the latest LLMs and AI/ML techniques to production-level applications in finance. 

• Collaboration and Communication: 

• Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, leadership, and business teams to align engineering efforts with company goals. 

• Adaptability and Continuous Learning: 
• Embraces and stays current with the latest AI technologies, understanding their practical applications and limitations.
