Members of the Downing Capital Group team are investor-entrepreneurs. We are a new breed of venture capital firm: members of our team are business builders, not merely capital providers. Our unique model turns conventional VC on its head: we begin with our own business ideas, recruit management teams to execute them, and then capitalize these ventures.

About This Role

Downing Capital Group is seeking a passionate world-class entrepreneur for the role of CEO and Founder for our newest portfolio company, AlphaNode. AlphaNode will be developing a generative AI software tool to support institutional investors’ ability to make quality decisions more efficiently. Through this platform, AlphaNode’s users will be able to compete with larger institutions and allow them to extract value and opportunities from data previously inaccessible due to high resource or cost constraints. 

As CEO of a Downing Capital portfolio company, you will have the unique opportunity to create and scale a market-leading business in the ever-growing AI and capital markets technology space. Founding a business alongside Downing Capital Group provides a greater chance of success for your venture and the downside protection of competitive compensation along the way. The CEO will leverage his or her prior experience, our detailed market research and business plan, and the expertise of a highly curated network of advisors and consultants to launch and scale this new venture.

What You’ll Do

• Drive AlphaNode’s growth, profitability, and vision forward with scalable and efficient operating processes
• Evolve and execute on the AlphaNode business plan and go-to-market strategy
• Build and refine a financial model and projections to inform business decisions and future fundraising strategies
• Attract, retain, and develop a team of talented, motivated leaders to fill out the c-suite and upper management roles
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that promotes employee satisfaction and productivity
• Align resources and own the operational budget to achieve key business goals and milestones
• Report updates to and collaborate with the Board of Directors and investors regarding progress towards achieving major strategic goals

Who You Are

• An expert with a proven track record of scaling a capital markets product or business
• Either a prior founder or executive leader, capable of building operational and strategic processes
• Data-driven; able to establish clear ambitious KPIs and manage budgeting
• Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
• A demonstrated leader, experienced in and passionate for recruiting and retaining high-performing, motivated teams
• A graduate with a bachelor’s degree from a leading institution (master’s degree preferred)
