Job Description: The Role and Impact As an AI Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing on-device AI capabilities by developing and optimizing software solutions that integrate cutting-edge AI models and hardware. Your day-to-day work will include prototyping innovative AI applications, crafting inference pipelines, and enabling hardware-software collaboration to deliver impactful, scalable solutions. Business group Intel Corporation's Client Computing Group AI and Graphics domain focuses on driving intelligent computing solutions from the cloud to end devices. By collaborating with global research and development teams and industry-leading model developers, the group tackles critical challenges in model deployment, hardware-software optimization, and multimodal AI innovation. This team's work supports Intel's mission to deliver exceptional computing experiences and pushes boundaries in AI for end devices. Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with leading model teams to deploy large language models (LLMs), vision-language models (VLMs), AI agents, and image/video generation models on end-user devices. - Rapidly prototype and develop inference pipelines, media codecs, and automation tools using Python or C/C++. - Participate in system-level hardware-software co-optimization for CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs to improve performance and engineering efficiency. - Engage in technical evaluations, prototyping, system integration, and iterative product development cycles. - Build cross-domain solutions by aligning with model, hardware, and ecosystem stakeholders to scale on-device AI capabilities.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 0-1 years of hands-on experience in AI software development, with demonstrated skills gained through internships, academic projects, coursework, or hands-on training OR a Master's degree in a relevant field with no prior professional experience. - Proficiency in Python or C/C++ and familiarity with Windows or Linux development environments. - Basic understanding of AI development tools and practices, including personal projects, coursework, or contributions to open-source platforms. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in developing LLMs, VLMs, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or tool-use workflows. - Knowledge of inference frameworks like PyTorch, OpenVINO, and ONNX Runtime. - Practical experience in model quantization, distillation, fine-tuning (e.g., LoRA), and deployment on end devices. - Familiarity with GPU/NPU acceleration, media processing, video codecs, and system performance optimization techniques. - Comfortable working with AI development workflows using tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
