You will work across our consumer website, mobile applications, and B2B digital platforms — applying AI thoughtfully and only where it delivers measurable value.

You will also conduct competitive and comparative audits, and develop business cases to support the stage gate funding process that governs digital product investment at Sherwin-Williams.

Position is not remote/hybrid and will work fulltime in-office at Sherwin-Williams Headquarters, Cleveland, OH.

Responsibilities

1.  Strategy & Vision

Define and own the AI digital product strategy and roadmap, identifying high-value use cases where AI and machine learning provide a competitive advantage and deliver a customer-first, human-centered experience.

•    Develop and maintain a multi-horizon digital product roadmap that balances near-term wins with long-term AI digital product vision.
•    Conduct competitive and comparative audits to benchmark market leaders, identify innovation opportunities, and inform strategic direction.
•    Build and present business cases — including opportunity sizing, ROI analysis, and investment rationale — to support the stage gate funding and approval process.
•    Champion human-centered design thinking as the foundation of all AI digital product strategy, ensuring solutions address genuine customer needs.
•    Serve as the strategic voice of digital product to senior business stakeholders and executive leadership.

2.  Digital Product Lifecycle Management

Oversee the entire digital product lifecycle from ideation, market research, and concept validation through launch, optimization, and, where applicable, sunset — applying agile and operational excellence throughout.

•    Lead discovery, proof of concept (POC), and prototype initiatives for new AI-powered features across web and mobile experiences for multiple brands.
•    Define clear digital product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with UX, engineering, and data science teams.
•    Partner with Digital product owners to ensure strategic digital product definitions are translated into well-groomed, actionable backlogs and delivered effectively by agile development teams.
•    Facilitate design sprints and rapid prototyping to validate hypotheses and reduce risk before full-scale investment.
•    Manage digital product releases end-to-end, coordinating across technology, marketing, and business teams to ensure successful go-to-market execution.

3.  Data-Driven Decision Making

Establish KPIs to measure digital product success, track performance, and make evidence-based decisions that improve user experience and ROI — overseeing data acquisition, quality, and integrity as the foundation for AI model performance.

•    Define success metrics and measurement frameworks for each digital product initiative, ensuring both business and experience outcomes are tracked.
•    Collaborate with data scientists and analytics teams to leverage behavioral data, digital product analytics, and AI model outputs to drive continuous improvement.
•    Oversee data acquisition, quality, and labeling requirements to ensure AI models are trained on reliable, representative data.
•    Partner with analytics platforms and BI teams to build dashboards and reporting that surface actionable insights to stakeholders.
•    Use data to prioritize features and investments based on customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.

4.  Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Build strong relationships across departments and manage external partners to ensure alignment with organizational goals and delivery of best-in-class digital experiences.

•    Serve as the primary point of alignment between business stakeholders, UX/design, data science, and technology teams for AI digital product initiatives.
•    Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and recommendations to senior and executive-level stakeholders to drive buy-in and digital product funding decisions.
•    Manage relationships with external vendors, agency partners, and technology providers to accelerate delivery and ensure quality.
•    Communicate digital product status, risks, and decisions clearly and proactively across all levels of the organization.
•    Facilitate cross-functional workshops, sprint reviews, and roadmap planning sessions to maintain alignment and momentum.

5.  Model Management

Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to define requirements for AI and machine learning models, select appropriate approaches, and monitor model performance over time.

•    Partner with data science teams to translate customer and business needs into AI model requirements and success criteria.
•    Evaluate AI/ML approaches and tools — including generative AI — and make informed build vs. buy vs. partner recommendations.
•    Establish model governance and monitoring processes to ensure AI outputs remain accurate, fair, and aligned with brand standards.
•    Identify opportunities to apply AI appropriately across digital touchpoints — applying technology only where it improves the customer experience in meaningful, measurable ways.
•    Stay current on AI/ML advancements, tools, and industry applications relevant to retail, e-commerce, and customer experience.

6.  Success Metrics

Track "dual metrics" — traditional digital product KPIs alongside model-specific metrics — to comprehensively measure digital product health, customer impact, and AI system performance.

•    Define and track traditional digital product KPIs such as engagement, conversion, retention, customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS), and revenue impact.
•    Establish AI-specific performance metrics including model accuracy, precision, recall, latency, and bias indicators, in partnership with data science teams.
•    Build reporting cadences and executive dashboards that communicate both business results and AI model health to diverse stakeholders.
•    Conduct ongoing post-launch reviews and retrospectives to capture learnings and feed continuous improvement cycles.
•    Ensure all digital product improvements are grounded in measurable outcomes tied to business and customer value.
