Summary:
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an AI Developer Application located in Guadalajara, North Campus. We are seeking an AI Applications Engineer to design, build, and maintain AI-powered applications that automate workflows and unlock business insights across the organization.
This role sits within the Business Intelligence function and combines AI application development with data engineering and reporting responsibilities, ensuring continuity of existing systems while accelerating adoption of modern AI capabilities.
The ideal candidate is an engineer who enjoys building real systems, working close to data, and applying AI to solve meaningful business problems in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What a typical day looks like:
Design and develop AI-powered applications that automate business workflows and enhance data accessibility.
Build and maintain internal tools that integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems, databases, and APIs.
Maintain and extend existing internal applications, , including three production systems—one of them legacy and undocumented—and two Ruby applications connected to Snowflake and other enterprise databases.
Work within Linux-based environments to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot applications.
Connect to and manage remote systems using secure protocols.
Reverse engineer existing systems when documentation is limited and identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Continuously explore new AI tools, frameworks, and approaches to improve productivity and solution capabilities.
Engineering degree required. Candidates must have formal engineering training with a strong foundation in analytical thinking, mathematics, and structured problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to break down complex technical problems and design practical solutions, with a clear understanding of the business implications of those solutions.
Fluent spoken and written English required. Candidates must be comfortable discussing technical and business topics with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team (required):

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent systems experience.
- Engineering degree required (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field).
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to break down complex problems and deliver practical solutions.
- Ability to understand business context and design solutions with clear business impact.
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

- Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, automation workflows, or intelligent tools.
- Experience working with LLM APIs, generative AI platforms, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Familiarity with tools such as:
- Copilot Studio
- Cortex AI
- Workflow automation tools (e.g., N8N or similar)
- Ability to design and implement AI-driven solutions integrating multiple systems and data sources.
Data & BI Engineering
- Strong SQL expertise:
- Writing and optimizing complex queries
- Working with stored procedures, views, and large datasets
- Experience developing and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines (SSIS or similar tools).
- Experience with enterprise reporting tools (SSRS or comparable platforms).
- Understanding of data modeling concepts, data flows, and enterprise data environments.
- Experience preparing structured data for analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
Software Engineering & Systems
- Experience building applications using Python, Ruby, or similar modern programming languages.
- Experience integrating systems via APIs and enterprise data platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux environments for development and deployment.
- Experience managing remote systems and servers using SSH.
- Familiarity with platforms such as Snowflake or similar data stacks is a plus.
