The Role
Develop commercial and quantitative analysis for renewable energy and BESS contracting across European power markets. Value PPAs, tolling, floor, and hybrid agreements; assess risk, bankability, financing outcomes, and revenue certainty. Support tenders, transaction processes, client mandates, project planning, and recommendations. Collaborate with modeling and research teams and contribute to origination tools and product development.
Summary Generated by Built In
Joining Aurora’s Origination team, you will develop the analysis that underpins how energy is bought and sold across Europe. You will support renewable energy and BESS developers, IPPs, investors and asset owners commercialising assets, and corporate and industrial buyers procuring energy and managing price risk, quantifying what contract structures are worth, how risk is shared between the parties, and what each option means for the client’s decision.
The successful applicant will combine commercial curiosity with sound analytical ability, an organised approach to managing work, and a track record of high performance in team-oriented environments. You will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, yet supportive environment. You will enjoy autonomy and real influence over commercial decisions in the energy sector. Working under the guidance of the Senior Associate and the Head of Origination, you will take on major strategic issues and grow into an industry expert.
The position is suitable for an early career energy professional with preferably 2 years of relevant work experience. The exact entry position will be dependent on experience and educational level.

  • Support live transaction processes, including tender preparation, bid benchmarking and the evaluation of offers received
  • Play an active role in all aspects of client engagement: helping identify issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, synthesising conclusions into recommendations, and communicating findings to clients
  • Help run client mandates day to day, maintaining project plans and timelines, coordinating inputs across teams, tracking deliverables and keeping clients informed on progress
  • Work closely with our modelling and research teams, structuring commercial problems into quantifiable analyses and deriving insights from the model results
  • Contribute to Aurora’s origination toolkit and to product development, by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities

  • Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
  • An ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties
  • An interest in how energy projects are contracted and financed, including the perspectives of developers, lenders, investors and corporate buyers
