MLT is looking for an exceptional Advancement Associate who will support the Advancement Department and organization in existing and prospective donor outreach, moves management, other donor-facing activities, and Advancement operations. The Advancement Associate will be an integral part of the fundraising and engagement efforts of the Advancement Department.


 The MLT Advancement Associate:

Supports donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts through activities such as:

  • Plays a key role in preparing and supporting staff members for successful donor meetings
  • Performs research, such as organization and individual profiles and data gathering from internal and external sources, and
  • Prepares and coordinating materials, for example, tailored donor presentations and pledge letters.
  • Supports annual giving plan creation and tracking, for example in the planning, execution, and CRM logging of communications, activities, and tasks.
  • Supports direct response campaigns, for example, project management and building and testing campaign emails in Hubspot,
  • Supports events, for example in building invitation lists, tracking RSVPs and communications, and contributing at events.
  • Creates donor gratitude deliverables, for example, cards and multimedia presentations.
  • Supports operations, for example, gift processing, preparing acknowledgment letters, and ensuring accurate and timely data capture in systems such as Salesforce.
  • Interacts directly with donors and other external stakeholders, such as through monitoring and responding to the department’s general email inbox and supporting events attended by donors, MLT Fellows and Alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • Supports team logistics and effectiveness, for example through coordinating regular team virtual and in-person meetings, disseminating agendas and reports, and tracking action items and notes via AI tools.
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Required Competencies, Qualifications, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required and 2+ years of professional experience
  • Diligent, conscientious, and proactive, with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment and support a growing team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to anticipate needs and form productive, positive, mutually beneficial relationships throughout the organization.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and attention to detail, with a proven track record of completing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in using technology tools, and commitment to data integrity and maximizing its usage to advance MLT’s mission. Knowledge of Google Suite, Salesforce CRM, web-based biographical and wealth-rating platforms, and Asana project management is a plus.
