We're looking for an experienced Administrator to join our team in Darwin, NT, supporting the day-to-day payroll and administrative functions that keep our operations running smoothly. This is a Permanent Full-Time, Monday to Friday role working 38 hours per week.

What you'll be doing: 

As an Administrator at Hastings Deering, you will: 

  • Manage payroll administration – Provide payroll support to operational teams, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee information. 

  • Process timecards and leave requests – Review and process timecards, leave forms, and payroll documentation for each pay cycle. 

  • Monitor employee rosters – Maintain and monitor workforce rosters to support operational requirements. 

  • Support employee enquiries – Assist employees with payroll, leave, and Enterprise Agreement queries in a professional and timely manner. 

  • Maintain compliance and safety standards – Ensure quality processes and safety procedures are consistently applied within administrative functions. 

  • Provide general administrative support – Assist the Administration Team Leader and broader team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required. 

 

What you'll need: 

A successful teammate will have experience in: 

  • Administrative experience – Minimum 1 year of experience in an administration or business support role. 

  • Microsoft Office proficiency – Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Systems knowledge – Exposure to ERP systems, with AX Dynamics experience advantageous but not essential. 

  • Industry understanding – Previous experience within mining, heavy equipment, or similar operational environments and familiarity with workforce rosters highly regarded. 

  • Strong communication skills – Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively support stakeholders and employees. 

  • High attention to detail – Ability to maintain accuracy when handling payroll and administrative documentation. 

  • Relevant qualifications – Certificate or qualification in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline is desirable.
