Labcorp is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team in San Diego, CA.
Work Schedule: 1st Shift - This is a Casual/Per Diem position; hours will be "as needed" and the start and end times will vary.
Job Responsibilities
Perform general office tasks including filing, typing, copying, scanning, uploading digital files, and data entry to support daily operations and ensure efficient workflow.
Organize, archive, and retrieve paper and electronic records using alphabetical and numerical systems; maintain confidential files and generate reports as needed.
Manage front desk operations including switchboard call handling, greeting and assisting visitors, coordinating hospitality requests, and liaising with hosts, security, and stakeholders.
Schedule and organize meetings, special events, and professional development sessions both on-site and virtually; maintain meeting room standards and logistics.
Assist with facilities coordination including submitting work orders, purchase orders, contractor bookings, service record tracking, and CAFM fault reporting; support inter-site car hire management where applicable.
Provide administrative assistance to senior staff including email correspondence, document preparation (e.g., memos, spreadsheets, forms), and travel arrangements.
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries, providing accurate information and timely responses.
Identify and recommend enhancements to administrative processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
Current or prior LabCorp experience
Associate’s degree or higher

Proficient in managing office equipment, supplies, and inventories, including preventive maintenance and vendor coordination.
Skilled in organizing, archiving, and retrieving digital and physical records using structured filing systems.
Experienced in front-desk operations, including switchboard call handling, visitor reception, and hospitality coordination.
Capable of planning and scheduling meetings, events, and video conferences, ensuring all logistics and materials are prepared.
Able to support facilities management tasks such as submitting work orders, managing service records, and coordinating with contractors.
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), calendar management tools, and office productivity software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with staff, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Meticulous in reviewing documents, maintaining records, and ensuring accuracy in all administrative tasks.
Resourceful and proactive in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions to support office efficiency.
Works well in team settings, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
Flexible and open to change, with the ability to quickly adjust to new processes, technologies, or priorities.
**Pay Range: $17.75 - $22.76 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
