Trek Travel provides global cycling, hiking, and walking vacations of a lifetime with the goal of helping more people actively explore and experience the world. In the Accounts Payable Specialist role, you will work closely with the Accounting team to manage and process invoices and payments to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. The Accounts Payable Specialist role will have the opportunity to add value to the accounting department, while being exposed to various parts of the business.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Performing daily financial transactions including verification and coding of invoices
  • Processing domestic and European vendor payments in a timely manner
  • Supporting the company commercial card maintenance, approval and reconciliation process
  • Interacting with domestic and European departments to discuss vendor transactions and payments
  • Working closely with Business Analysts and Trip Designers to review trip costs
  • Ensuring compliance with accounts payable processes (e.g. W-9, sales and use taxes)
  • Reconciling related AP balance sheet accounts
  • Processing and filing annual 1099 forms
  • Additional projects as needed (e.g. supporting month-end close or process improvement initiatives)
WHAT ELSE WE’D LIKE TO SEE FROM YOU:
  • An Associates degree in Accounting or 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting work
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and have strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • You have hands-on experience using AI tools in your daily work, are genuinely curious about AI learning, and enjoy exploring new AI systems, testing out use cases, and sharing what you discover with the team
  • You bring strong deductive reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, along with sharp attention to detail
  • You are committed to accuracy, reliability, efficiency, deadlines and organization
  • You rock a positive, solution-oriented attitude and always ask "How can I help?"
  • You communicate clearly in writing and on the phone

  • Availability to work 40 hours/week during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM)

This is a full-time position and is eligible for Trek Travel’s competitive benefits package. This position is based in Madison, Wisconsin with the flexibility to work remotely and reports to the CFO. Skills Required
