Job Title: IFS RTR - Accounting Manager, Americas SME
Role Purpose:
The RTR Accounting Manager, Americas Accountant / Sr. Accountant plays a pivotal role in a fast-paced multinational and shared services finance environment by leading month-end financial close activities and ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and internal policies. This role will work across core accounting, close, and controls —with strong exposure to process improvement and transformation initiatives. You will partner with cross functionalcross functional stakeholders to ensure financial records are complete, compliant (US GAAP), and audit ready audit ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support timely month‑end close with focus on completeness, accuracy, and quality of substantiation.
- Review the financial statements and analyze key variances and provide analytical insights.
- Execute/support accounting operations across GL, AP, AR, billing, revenue accounting, accruals, expense accounting, intercompany, and reconciliations based on assigned scope.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring clear explanations, support, aging follow ups follow-ups, and timely resolution of open items.
- Coordinate with shared services / operations teams to ensure smooth end‑to‑end accounting flows and issue resolution.
- Act as an SME by providing guidance on appropriate accounting treatments for complex or non-routine transactions. Enforce compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies, maintaining an audit-ready environment with proper documentation.
- Identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and automation across close, reconciliations, validations, and reporting.
- Drive initiatives to shorten the close cycle and enhance reporting accuracy, including exploring AI and advanced financial systems integration where beneficial.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams – including FP&A, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Operations, and local finance teams – to facilitate smooth end-to-end finance processes.
Success Measures (Key Outcomes):
- Timely & Accurate Closings: Consistently complete monthly and quarterly closings on schedule with high accuracy, yielding reliable financial statements and minimal post-close adjustments.
- Financial Integrity: Achieve strong balance sheet integrity through well-documented, fully reconciled accounts (no aged or unexplained items) and effective elimination of intercompany mismatches in consolidation.
- Process Improvements: Implement efficiency enhancements that reduce close timelines, streamline intercompany processes, or automate with a focus on automating or standardizing e routine tasks, demonstrating continuous improvement in the RTR function.
- Partnership and reporting, working as an extended arm of local Americas controllership team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3-4 years post‑qualification experience in industry and/or audit environment (shared services / multinational exposure preferred).
- 3+ years of relevant post-qualification accounting experience (e.g., general ledger, financial close, auditing or financial reporting), preferably within a multinational company or global shared services environment.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles; exposure to US GAAP and awareness of local statutory requirements is an advantage.
Core Competencies & Skills:
- Strong accounting and reconciliation discipline; structured close execution.
- Experience with Oracle and Salesforce platforms is preferred. Exposure to Oracle EPM applications, including Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS) and Account Reconciliation (ARCS), would be advantageous.
- Systems mindset: ability to understand process flows and controls end to end.
- Proactive in identifying opportunities for technology adoption and integrating innovative solutions to enhance workflow agility.
- Attention to detail – meticulous in financial data validation, reconciliations, and document preparation to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting.
