The accountant will support all aspects of local accounting and controlling in the Croatian market. They will coordinate activities between Operational Controlling, Revenue Controlling and Business Finance and perform local accounting activities specific to the respective market, as well as supporting the local core finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage local accounting and controllership function
- Manage the statutory and tax compliance requirement (Local GAAP statutory financial statements and tax calculations)
- Maintain local statutory accounts and ensure ongoing compliance to local regulation for the local legal entities
- Act as a single point of contact for internal auditors and / or tax and legal authorities or advisors
- Ensure compliance with all relevant global, regional or local policies, procedures and guidelines
- Ensure adequate performance and reporting on the following:
- US-GAAP accounting / closing, accruals, and BS account reconciliations
- Financial closing (Monthly, Q, and YE reporting)
- Tax Reporting (US-GAAP) and local CIT submission
- Monthly VAT preparation per local requirements, JOPPD form for T&E
- Statutory Financial Statements preparation / submission
- Procure-to-pay functions (AP, invoice & payment processing, T&E, etc)
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliation
- Maintain internal controls and ensure an effective control environment through active coordination with the Group Controller and the International Core teams
- Responsible for the maintenance of local statutory accounts and ensure ongoing compliance to local regulation for the local legal entity
Qualifications
- Proven years of relevant professional experience as accountant in a small or medium international company
- Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
- Fluency in English and Croatian is mandatory
- Knowledge and experience with local statutory requirements is mandatory (HSFI, SFS, CIT, VAT returns)
- Local or international Accounting qualification is an advantage
- SAP user and experience in international company is an advantage
- Knowledge and experience with US-GAAP is an advantage
- IT-PC literate (Google for Work, Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication skills, team player, attention to details
