About the Role
The Accountant is responsible for independently managing core accounting activities for assigned entities or processes, ensuring accurate month‑end close, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
This role requires sound professional judgment, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to resolve non‑routine issues with limited supervision. The Financial Accountant partners cross‑functionally and supports continuous improvement across accounting processes.
What You'll Do
Financial Accounting & Close
Own and execute month‑end and year‑end close activities for assigned legal entities or accounting areas
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness
Ensure timely and accurate financial results in accordance with US GAAP / IFRS and YETI accounting policies
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting
Analyze P&L and balance sheet movements, providing clear explanations for variances
Support internal and external reporting requirements, including statutory reporting where applicable
Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal control requirements
Partner with auditors during internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations
Identify control gaps or process risks and recommend mitigation actions
Business & Cross‑Functional Partnership
Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, Tax, and Technology teams to ensure accurate financial outcomes
Provide accounting guidance on transactions and operational activities
Respond to finance‑related queries with clear, practical recommendations
Process Improvement & Systems
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes
Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process documentation
Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned accounting areas or systems
What You Bring
2+ years of progressive experience in financial accounting, audit, or related roles
Knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP and/or IFRS)
Experience supporting month-end close processes
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
Ability to exercise independent judgment and resolve complex accounting issues
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification (or in progress)
Exposure to inventory, revenue recognition, or cost accounting
