Financial Analyst
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Analyst to join the finance team within Mastercard Europe. You will be a key member of the Europe Controllers Group, which is responsible for Mastercard Europe's financial reporting and the integrity of its financials. The role will report to the Manager, Controller for Poland.
The role holder will have a broad range of financial reporting and accounting responsibilities and will collaborate with colleagues across the business to meet objectives. The role will be based in Poland.
Main duties
- Prepare US to local GAAP conversions for Mastercard Processing S.A. and Mastercard Europe S.A. Branch in Poland as determined by the Manager, Controller, and prepare financial statements with the assistance of external service providers
- Complete various financial reporting and accounting tasks for Polish entities, including monthly reporting to the National Central Bank in Poland, Statistical Reporting etc.
- Collaborate effectively with auditors and external service providers to ensure objectives and deadlines are met
- Support accounting accuracy by reviewing trial balances, and work with GBSC (shared service center) to rectifying issues that are identified
- Support tax compliance for Europe, by monitoring transfer pricing compliance
- Prepare monthly and quarterly closing entries
- Perform analytical reviews to support the accuracy of net revenue accounting for Poland and ensure compliance with SOX requirements. This includes monitoring existing customer agreements and evaluating the financial impact of new agreements
- As part of month-end close, ensure that P&L and balance sheet movements are consistent with underlying customer agreements and Mastercard's accounting policies
- Support the wider Controllers team to meet its objectives by assisting with process improvement projects, and by providing guidance and assistance to colleagues
- Assist a variety of departments, including Tax, Treasury, and Business Development Finance with ad-hoc requests
- Assist with additional tasks as and when required.
All about you
- Relevant work experience in professional audit (Big 4 preferred), corporate controllership, or advanced financial reporting
- Knowledgeable and experienced with complex accounting concepts (including US GAAP / IFRS / Local GAAP)
- Experience in statutory reporting, preparation of financial statements, and coordination of external audits
- Strong Excel skills, and practical exposure to ERP and reporting systems (experience with Oracle is a strong plus)
- An effective communicator and able to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- An inquisitive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational autonomy
- Fluency in English and Polish is required.

Skills Required

  • Relevant work experience in professional audit, corporate controllership, or advanced financial reporting
  • Big 4 audit experience
  • Knowledge of complex accounting concepts including US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP
  • Experience in statutory reporting, preparation of financial statements, and coordination of external audits
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Practical exposure to ERP and reporting systems
  • Experience with Oracle
