The SaaS Account Manager – Pharma & Life Sciences is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy within an assigned territory, serving exclusively Pharma, Biopharma, and Biotechnology customers.
This role owns the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and has a strong emphasis on new business development in a high‑potential market. You will act as a trusted commercial partner to life sciences organizations, positioning IDBS as a strategic enabler across R&D, process development, and manufacturing.
The position reports to the Director, European Sales and is part of the EMEA Sales Team. The role is fully remote within Germany, with regular travel across the territory.
This is a hunter‑oriented role suited for a driven sales professional who is energized by opening new doors, building market presence, and establishing long‑term partnerships across the life sciences ecosystem.
In this new‑business‑focused role, you will:
Build and execute territory and account strategies for mid‑ to large‑size Pharma, Biopharma, and Biotech organizations
Identify, engage, and convert high‑value target accounts, developing a robust pipeline across the DACH region
Expand and deepen commercial relationships with existing customers, driving adoption of both current and new IDBS offerings
Own account planning and opportunity management, progressing complex deals to achieve regional and individual sales targets
Act as a consultative partner, educating customers on industry challenges (e.g., data complexity, digitalization, regulatory pressure) and clearly articulating how IDBS solutions address these needs
Represent IDBS through high‑impact customer meetings, executive‑level presentations, and approved industry conferences and events
Maintain strong call and field productivity while adhering to all ethical sales practices, compliance standards, and promotional regulations
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in SaaS sales, ideally within Life Sciences, Pharma, Biopharma, or Scientific Informatics
Ability to navigate complex, 12–18‑month enterprise sales cycles
Demonstrated success managing multi‑stakeholder deals, including VP‑ and C‑level decision makers
Experience with a structured sales methodology (e.g., Challenger Sale preferred)
Scientific or scientific‑sales background; life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
Nice to Have
Hands‑on or commercial experience in R&D, process development, or manufacturing within the biopharma industry
Fluency in German and English
Travel & Work Environment
Ability to travel 25–50% within the DACH region
Occasional international or overnight travel for conferences or company events
