The Sales Manager within our Energy, Mining and Marine(EMM) business vertical will be responsible for the generation of new pipeline in our Enterprise segment. This is an individual contributor role primarily focused on generating a pipeline to acquire new business in the EMM industry.

What You'll Do:
The Sales Manager will grow and increase revenue through a combination of responsibilities and skills:
- Proactively identify new opportunities and deliver innovative solutions that will continue to add new value and expand American Express Global Business Travel’s web of influence.
- Use every interaction with prospects and industry as an opportunity to build brand awareness of American Express Global Business Travel’s value proposition for the EMM market specifically.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers, organizational culture, industry-specific needs and limitations.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal partners and senior level external contacts to help ensure solutions are meet the industry specific needs.
- Collaborate with key EMM stakeholders internally to ensure feedback is shared with the appropriate business functions to enable GBT to deliver on specific industry needs.
- Research the marketplace and competitor products and services to highlight the value that distinguishes GBT products, and specifically uses MI, benchmarking, and technology as critical value drivers.
- Enhance our proposition through policy consultation, researching white paper needs, technology road mapping, optimizing online solutions, and event content development.
What We're Looking for:
- Confidence and discipline to cold-call potential customers as well as the consultative selling skills to provide solutions to potential customers.
- Relevant experience in the Energy, Oil and Gas, Offshore or Marine industry and understanding of their business.
- Exceptional relationship management and consultative sales skills.
- Knowledge in technology solutions and a keen ability to deliver client specific based solutions.
- Ability to dig deep with prospects and clients they work with and understand their individual needs, motivations and ‘hot buttons’ in order to develop truly customer focused solutions.
- A strong understanding of the external marketplace, industry, and in‑depth knowledge of the power of the Amex GBT EMM value proposition.
