- Serve as the primary relationship lead for assigned customers and maintain strong working relationships with senior customer and carrier representatives.
- Develop and execute customer benefit strategies primarily for Supplemental Disability, Group Life and Disability, and Life insurance with LTC, aligned with customer objectives and workforce needs.
- Lead renewal strategy, carrier negotiations, RFP execution, and final recommendation development for complex life and disability programs.
- Interpret underwriting results, funding considerations and cost drivers and communicate recommendations clearly to customer decision-makers.
- Oversee and direct the work of Senior Account Managers, Account Managers, and Benefit Analysts to ensure deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with the customer strategy. This includes responsibility for tracking adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for customers in the absence of a Sr. Account Manager on a customer’s account.
- Review customer-facing materials, presentations, and strategic recommendations for quality, consistency, and insight before delivery.
- Keep customers informed of industry trends, carrier market developments, and regulatory changes relevant to life, disability, and LTC-related benefits.
- Advise customers on plan design changes, implementation strategy, enrollment approach, evidence of insurability considerations, and vendor/carrier performance, with an emphasis on market-leading tools, resources and strategies.
- Accuracy and interpretation of analytical data; ownership of program or plan benchmarking
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes or opportunities within existing customer programs to increase participation in current offerings or introduce new benefit lines.
- Develop, communicate and take primary responsibility for execution of customer enrollment strategies
- Proactively communicate relevant periodic updates on enrollment projects, as well as a stewardship reporting upon successful completion.
- Recognition and engagement with other resources and SMEs when appropriate on customers’ behalf (e.g., absence consulting integration with leave/absence programs and other income‑replacement benefits).
- BA/BS degree required.
- 5+ years of employee benefits experience, with significant customer-facing experience in life, disability, or broader health and welfare consulting. Emphasis or focus on supplemental disability is a plus.
- Advanced technical knowledge of benefits administration, market trends, carrier products, processes and services, and underwriting fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate customer and team needs, and lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including executive presence while making presentations.
- Advanced critical thinking and strong attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
- Life, Accident and Health Insurance License.

Pay Range:
$90,000 - $150.000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for this role.
