POSITION PURPOSE / ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Coordinates, prepares, and processes projects for investigation of root cause issues with aircraft defects.
- Maintains inherent safety, reliability and operational reliability levels of aircraft, systems, and components at the lowest cost through rational analysis and manipulation of the maintenance/inspection program.
- Support the maintenance mechanics with data and solutions for historical and repeating flight issues.
- Analyzes and evaluates all forms of data used to measure component, system, and aircraft performance for safety and economic impact.
- Provides technical analysis through the evaluation of aircraft maintenance data to support maintenance task optimization.
- Produces and compiles various reports to analyze and evaluate data and report findings and trends to maintenance and Tech Ops management.
- Builds electronic presentations that include graphs, photographic supporting documentation, and vendor supplied data.
- Prepares and presents overview of statistical data, as well as performance and analysis of trends and findings as required by AC 120-17A.
- Provides component data to vendors as requested. Travels to vendor repair stations for components with poor reliability when a shop visit would aid in understanding component issues; works with vendor to develop better methods of testing and repair.
Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Director of Maintenance.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Boeing 767 aircraft maintenance experience, or equivalent work experience in large wide body aircraft required.
- Background in Aviation, Maintenance, Engineering experience preferred.
- At least two years of statistical reliability or maintenance program experience, or a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills are required.
- Proficiency in creating, using and manipulating relational database.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, aircraft flight documents, aircraft maintenance manuals to include wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and public focus groups.
REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and build company maintenance work orders for maintenance technicians to troubleshoot discrepancies and log results for fleet usage.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 25 pounds under 35% of the time.
- Some travel will be required to assist in troubleshooting complex reliability issues.
- Travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
