What you’ll do as a MISO Intern:

  • Analyze trends, load growth patterns, and emerging risks to support MISO’s long‑term strategy and planning.
  • Strengthen analytical insights by refining data inputs, comparing regional trends, and collaborating with teammates to build meaningful takeaways that support real decisions.
  • Contribute to forecasting and strategic analysis projects that help planners, operators, and leaders anticipate how the grid is evolving and what it means for system reliability.
  • Attend community service events, intern socials, networking activities, and development programming.
  • Wrap up the summer with a final presentation summarizing your project work, recommendations, and areas of impact.

We are looking for students who…

  • Are pursuing Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related degree.
  • Have strong critical thinking, research ability, and an interest in strategy, policy, market dynamics, or risk assessment.
  • Are proficient in Visual Studio Code, GitHub, Power BI, PowerPoint, and commonly used analytical tools.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, eagerness to learn, and strong respect and collaboration—key values for this team.
  • Are excited to work with real‑world datasets, dashboards, trend reports, long‑term planning materials, and strategic briefs.
  • Can communicate clearly and are comfortable synthesizing insights for leadership audiences.

To be eligible for the program, you must be available to start Wednesday, June 2nd, 2027 and continue through Friday, August 13th, 2027.  No VISA sponsorship opportunities, including OPT/CPT.
