We are currently seeking a motivated Geometry Process Engineer to join our team under the PLP (Product Lifecycle Process) Strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for geometry design and optimization within the engineering processes. If you have a passion for geometric modeling and a robust understanding of engineering principles, we invite you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
This role focuses on developing and implementing a PLP strategy (Process, Layout, and Product) for the Body-in-White (BIW) assembly process. The primary responsibilities include designing geometry retention welds (GEO Welds), creating clamping and welding sequences, and collaborating with the GD&T and BIW teams to optimize physical location characteristics. The objective is to ensure precise geometry, minimize capital expenditure, and reduce the impact on launch when introducing new products. This role also involves attending design reviews to maintain technical standards and document the PLP strategy.
General Activities:
- Develop and document the PLP strategy for Body-in-White (BIW) assembly processes, focusing on geometry retention and welding sequence.
- Design and coordinate clamping and welding sequences to ensure optimal geometric accuracy.
- Closely collaborate with GD&T and BIW teams to define and validate physical location characteristics for each tool, minimizing capital costs.
- Participate in design reviews and process approvals to ensure compliance with technical standards and alignment with the documented PLP strategy.
- Integrate new products into existing processes with a focus on reducing launch impact and optimizing costs.
- Support product and process convergence to improve geometry metrics and simplify tool/process strategies.
- Perform process analyses and participate in design reviews to implement continuous improvement solutions in manufacturing.
- Work as a team with various levels of the organization, effectively communicating requirements and necessary adjustments in processes and tools.
- Apply advanced skills in CAD software (NX, Catia, AutoCAD) for the design and adjustment of assembly tools and fixtures.
- Support weld compliance tracking and certification processes when required, applying knowledge of world-class manufacturing methodologies and welding standards.
- Experience in welding processes and related technologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (NX, Catia, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with technical documentation and manufacturing standards.
- Experience in manufacturing process optimization.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and materials used in the automotive industry.
- Ability to conduct cost and budget analysis.
- Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.
- Skill in handling project management and planning software (such as Teamcenter Manufacturing).
- Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- Full remote
- Training & Development
- Wellness Resources
