Supports Wolf Trap’s education and community programs by helping plan internships, apprenticeships, teacher grants, field trips, and children’s theater programs. Coordinates related events, contributes to marketing and promotion, researches prospective artists, and assists with administrative tasks. The role requires strong computer, writing, communication, organizational, multitasking, customer service, creativity, and initiative skills.

Supports ticket operations for upcoming performances by providing ticket information, assisting patrons and donors, reconciling finances, preparing reports, learning the ProVenue ticketing system, and proofing performance audits, presales, and VIP package materials.

Supports Wolf Trap Opera and Classical Programming with daily departmental operations. Responsibilities include tracking artist and creative staff housing, communicating with artists to prepare for the summer season, and assisting with financial preparations for summer contractors. The part-time internship lasts 12 weeks and requires strong computer, organizational, and communication skills, with prior performing arts organization experience recommended.

Assists with stage setup, load-in, hospitality, sound reinforcement, and lighting for live performances ranging from chamber music to rock and roll. The part-time, 12-week internship requires prior university-level concert production experience, physical ability to lift equipment, and evening or weekend availability. Applicants must be students, recent graduates, or enrolled career changers located in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC.

Supports the Communications & Marketing team by researching, writing, editing, and proofreading editorial content for print and digital program books, websites, publications, and performance promotions. The intern will edit artist biographies, craft show copy, build digital program pages, support publication reviews, and develop content ideas for diverse audiences.

Design signage, publications, invitations, print and web advertisements, and other creative materials. Manage multiple projects, build production schedules, meet deadlines, prepare files for prepress, review proofs, and communicate with printers. The internship provides mentorship and portfolio-building experience while requiring strong typography, proofreading, technical design, and attention-to-detail skills.

Supports Wolf Trap’s Communications & Marketing team by writing and editing content for print, blogs, social media, and other online platforms. Responsibilities include developing artist profiles, conducting local media outreach, documenting events, proofreading copy, maintaining digital communication tools, assisting with social media outreach, and tracking public relations coverage for education initiatives.

Oversee nightly front-of-house and bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, staffing, training, POS transactions, drink service, deposits, inventory, sanitation, and customer support. Resolve service concerns, assist with QR-code ordering, communicate food issues to kitchen staff, and prepare the bar for regular and special-event service. The role requires weeknight and weekend availability, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Supports the membership team with donor data entry, phone and email customer service, mailings, acknowledgements, benefit materials, and general administrative tasks. Maintains confidential membership records in The Raiser's Edge, assists members with questions, and performs office duties such as proofreading, copying, filing, and assembling materials. This is a hybrid, variable-hours position running from October 2026 through April 2027.
