Leads the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of utility-scale battery energy storage assets. Oversees maintenance programs, SCADA and operational technology, vendors, contractors, commissioning, safety initiatives, and a technical team. Supports new battery deployments, grid modernization, and long-term energy storage strategy while serving as the organization’s battery operations subject matter expert.

Administers and maintains the cooperative’s servers, network infrastructure, virtual environments, security tools, workstations, mobile devices, and Microsoft systems. Ensures IT stability, security, and availability; troubleshoots hardware and software; collaborates with departments and vendors; supports projects, cyber-security protocols, office technology, and system operations. The role requires independent judgment, strong communication, confidentiality, and limited overnight travel.

Manage and expand distributed energy resource programs involving battery storage, generation, demand response, and emerging technologies. Coordinate projects with cooperatives, customers, vendors, and contractors; provide technical guidance; monitor performance; analyze data; prepare reports; support onboarding and operational readiness; develop training and communications; improve processes; and track energy industry developments.

Maintains network hardware, software platforms, identity systems, servers, virtualized environments, IP addressing, database backups, and VoIP services. Supports internal IT operations, manages Active Directory and SaaS accounts, configures firewalls, mitigates DDoS threats, and resolves complex network and data issues. Coordinates projects and cross-department work while maintaining reliable fiber network and enterprise services.

Design, implement, and support AI/ML systems, working with business units to optimize workflows and educate staff. Communicate findings to stakeholders and ensure compliance with policies.

Design, maintain, and advance NineStar's service-provider core network. Configure and upgrade core devices, support 100G/400G transport and DWDM, manage MPLS and BGP/OSPF, administer IPv4/IPv6 and network services (DNS/DHCP/TACACS), perform advanced troubleshooting, document architecture, mentor engineers, and contribute to long-term network strategy and technology deployment.
