Responsibilities include securing extramural funding, publishing, mentoring DVM and graduate students, teaching research-related coursework, ensuring regulatory compliance (IACUC/IRB/biosafety), building research infrastructure, and participating in service and accreditation activities.

Lead center-wide student development and workforce preparation efforts: create and review individualized development plans, ensure NOAA mission competencies, coordinate professional development and experiential research, produce required reporting, monitor outcomes, and manage multi-institutional education assessment to align student training with NOAA workforce needs.

Provide academic advising and administrative support to on-site and distance students, assist with course planning and transferability, maintain student records, guide students to campus offices (Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid), support faculty, and perform related duties to promote timely graduation.
