Collaborate with robotics, hardware, manufacturing, and field teams; mentor engineers; and support safe, reliable robot operations at construction and power sites.

Build and operate critical software for power-campus design, construction, simulation, optimization, equipment integration, and energy management. Own technical areas, shape roadmaps, make architectural decisions, debug production systems, establish data models and interfaces, improve testing and observability, and mentor engineers. The role collaborates across power systems, construction, robotics, and company leadership to deliver reliable software interacting with physical infrastructure.

Own day-to-day execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from planning through commissioning. Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, controlling budgets and forecasts, administering EPC contracts, coordinating engineering, procurement, supply chain, commissioning, and field teams, managing change orders and scope, and mitigating project risks. The role is based in Austin with regular time at project sites in West Texas.

Own end-to-end sourcing categories: develop short- and long-term strategies, run RFx and negotiations, manage vendor qualification and contracts, support engineering/construction procurements, improve processes and implement P2P/contract software, and mentor procurement specialists.

Lead end-to-end recruiting: own pipeline strategy, outbound sourcing, and candidate experience. Partner with founders to define technical/executive profiles, run ATS workflows in Ashby, source and close hard-to-fill hires, track recruiting KPIs, manage compensation and equity benchmarking, own employer branding, and build the talent function and team over time.

Produce build-ready electrical designs for islanded behind-the-meter microgrids: single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring schedules, equipment sizing (conductors, OCPD, disconnects, switchgear) across MV/LV/DC, basis-of-design for the Engineer of Record, DC collection layouts, and maintain drawing sets through IFC for procurement and field execution.

Support founders, engineering leaders, and the San Francisco office through end-to-end special projects, logistics, deployment test coordination, and operational problem-solving. The role requires high ownership, strong organization, sound judgment, and comfort working on ambiguous, low-structure tasks. This is a full-time, in-person internship in San Francisco or Austin with direct exposure to founders and technical teams.

Lead the mechanical, electrical, and systems design of robotics subsystems from prototype through production. Direct a small team of hardware engineers, make architecture decisions, integrate controls and sensors, manage BOMs and suppliers, reduce costs, and improve field reliability. The role requires regular travel between a San Francisco robotics facility and a West Texas deployment site to resolve failures and implement design fixes.

The role is based in San Francisco with multi-week deployments to West Texas.

Lead TAR’s robotics hardware organization, owning strategy, architecture, and technical roadmaps across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering. Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team while scaling construction robots from prototypes to reliable higher-volume production. Oversee manufacturing, suppliers, BOM complexity, cost reduction, field hardening, and continuous improvement. Represent hardware decisions to executives, customers, partners, and investors. The role is based in San Francisco with regular field work at the West Texas deployment site.

Lead end-to-end financing execution for renewable energy and storage projects, including debt, tax equity, ITC transfers, and equipment financing. Build and audit complex project finance models, negotiate term sheets, manage counsel and advisors, structure offtake and credit support arrangements, and oversee documentation through close. Develop capital structures across HoldCo, OpCo, and project SPVs, prepare investor and lender materials, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.

Lead the buildout and scale-up of an assembly, quality-control, and manufacturing line for robotic hardware. Own DFM, tooling, fixtures, inspection criteria, root-cause analysis, corrective action, supplier management, standard work, documentation, and manufacturing capacity planning. This hands-on role requires personally building hardware and collaborating closely with engineers and technicians at TAR’s San Francisco robotics facility.

Leads manufacturing engineering across TAR’s robotics product lines, transitioning from prototype and low-rate builds to reliable higher-volume production. Responsibilities include defining strategy, building the engineering organization, planning capital equipment and capacity, establishing company-wide quality and documentation standards, managing supplier and contract manufacturer strategy, and driving root-cause and continuous-improvement processes. The role advises executives on investment, make-versus-buy, and production decisions and represents manufacturing engineering with external stakeholders.

Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of robotic systems for large-scale solar construction. Design and iterate on hardware and software, establish engineering, testing, validation, and documentation standards, close technical capability gaps, mentor the robotics team, and coordinate with hardware, software, manufacturing, and deployment leaders. The role is hands-on and based in San Francisco with regular travel to West Texas.

Build software for renewable energy campuses, including high-fidelity simulations, geospatial data pipelines, automated site and electrical design, and energy management systems. Develop real-time controls, SCADA and telemetry integrations, testing infrastructure, and safety systems for islanded solar and storage facilities. Collaborate with power, civil, and external engineering experts to convert domain knowledge into reliable software and accelerate utility-scale site design and deployment.
