Perform preventive maintenance, installation, repair, troubleshooting, and improvement of mill machinery and equipment. Maintain machine centers, conveyors, saws, kilns, de-barkers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and related components. Program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial automation and electrical systems in a lumber mill using Allen-Bradley PLC5/SLC500/ControlLogix, VFDs, motion controllers, and instrumentation. Perform journeyman electrician duties, design and read schematics, support preventive maintenance, and collaborate with teams and vendors in a high-production, safety-focused environment.

Perform advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance to keep mill equipment safe and reliable. Supervise production team to meet safety, quality, and KPI goals. Provide training, enforce housekeeping and safety protocols, manage labor and costs, drive continuous improvement projects, and coach direct reports to meet performance expectations.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and program industrial electrical and automation systems to support production. Program and modify Allen-Bradley PLCs, maintain VFDs and instrumentation, read electrical schematics, resolve complex equipment issues, support continuous improvement, and collaborate with maintenance, production, and vendors.

Supervise production team to meet safety, quality, and KPI targets. Provide training, enforce housekeeping and safety protocols, manage labor and costs, drive continuous improvement projects, coordinate with other departments, and coach direct reports for performance and career development.

Lead all plant manufacturing and maintenance operations with emphasis on preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance. Drive safety, continuous improvement, KPI management, project execution, budgeting, and team development while collaborating cross-functionally to meet production and reliability goals.

Serve as onsite IT liaison at the Forest Grove mill, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, routing), integrate IT and OT networks, administer Active Directory, produce documentation, provide on-call support and travel to other mill sites as needed, and collaborate with operations and corporate IT to ensure uptime in a manufacturing environment.

Lead scoping, planning, and execution of capital and process improvement projects in lumber manufacturing. Coordinate operations, maintenance, vendors, and contractors to deliver projects on time, on budget, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards. Provide technical troubleshooting, risk mitigation, continuous improvement, and contractor oversight, with hands-on onsite involvement as required.
