Trainee will learn to operate and maintain high-pressure wood-fired boilers and kilns, perform minor repairs, load kiln charges, manage moisture content, follow environmental compliance, clear ash, and collaborate with departments to improve operations and safety.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on sawmill machinery (conveyors, saws, kilns, de-barkers). Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems; perform welding/fabrication; maintain documentation, parts inventory, and safety compliance; collaborate with operators and mentor apprentices to improve equipment efficiency and uptime.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and program industrial electrical and automation systems to support production. Program and modify Allen-Bradley PLCs, maintain VFDs and instrumentation, read electrical schematics, resolve complex equipment issues, support continuous improvement, and collaborate with maintenance, production, and vendors.
