Teams at Shield AI

Team
Aircraft

The Aircraft division designs, builds, and flies Shield AI's uncrewed aircraft. V-BAT is an ISR aircraft with an operational record from Ukraine to the Indo-Pacific, flown by U.S. and allied forces. X-BAT is an AI-piloted fighter that takes off and lands without a runway, in build now for first flight this year. The work runs from clean-sheet airframe and propulsion design in San Diego to production and flight test in Dallas-Frisco.

Team
Growth (Sales and Marketing)

The Growth division is how the capability reaches the people who depend on it. Its sellers, capture managers, and solutions engineers carry V-BAT, Hivemind, and X-BAT into the rooms where the U.S. and allied governments decide what to field, across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

Team
Hivemind

Hivemind is Shield AI's autonomy stack, the software that flies the aircraft. It has been flying since 2018, across more than 30 platforms including an F-16, and it works in the GPS- and comms-denied conditions where remote-controlled drones fail. It is under a U.S. Air Force production contract for Collaborative Combat Aircraft, and it runs on partner platforms beyond our own. The work is modern C++ autonomy: planning, perception, state estimation, and the ground systems and integration that put it on real aircraft.
