The Associate Director/Director, FP&A will serve as the primary finance partner for Scholar Rock’s EMEA organization. Responsibilities include revenue and OPEX planning, budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, scenario modeling, patient and revenue modeling, variance analysis, management reporting, accounting close support, process improvement, FP&A systems training, and strategic analyses. The role partners with Commercial, Medical, Accounting, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a biotechnology environment.

Manage the EMEA monthly close across multiple entities, including revenue, OPEX, gross-to-net accounting, reconciliations, intercompany flows, and financial reporting schedules. Maintain accounting policies, SOX controls, and statutory reporting processes while partnering with accounts payable, external firms, and global accounting teams. Support Concur, ad hoc finance projects, and process improvements in a fast-growing biotechnology company.

Leads Scholar Rock’s international indirect tax strategy, VAT/GST compliance, tax technology, ERP implementation, audits, and controversy. Advises on cross-border supply chains, imports, commercial agreements, invoicing, tax recovery, and international transaction taxes. Oversees registrations, filings, refunds, external providers, tax master data, e-invoicing, digital reporting, and operational controls across multiple jurisdictions. Partners with Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Tax leadership while building global compliance capabilities for the company’s expanding European operations.

Leads U.S. federal, state, and local tax accounting, compliance, planning, controversy, and indirect tax activities. Owns domestic income tax provisions, consolidated federal and multistate filings, audits, tax planning, and technical documentation. Serves as the tax workstream lead for ERP implementation and finance transformation. Advises on R&D, clinical trials, credits, licensing, commercialization, and other business transactions while overseeing tax controls, technology, and external providers.

Manage daily Miami office operations and workplace services while providing high-level administrative support to executives. Responsibilities include complex calendar management, travel coordination, expense processing, meeting and event organization, executive materials, vendor and facilities coordination, supplies, onboarding support, space planning, invoices, and budget tracking. The role requires discretion, strong organization, communication, service orientation, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced biotechnology environment.

Leads the strategy, governance, implementation, and operational excellence of enterprise business applications, initially focused on SAP and Veeva. Oversees a global SAP implementation, business process transformation, compliance, integrations, vendors, budgets, and application lifecycle management. Builds an enterprise applications team and establishes Centers of Excellence while aligning systems roadmaps with commercial growth and launch timelines.

Leads global infrastructure and IT operations across cloud, Microsoft platforms, networks, identity, endpoints, collaboration tools, and end-user computing. Builds scalable operating processes, ensures reliability, disaster recovery, business continuity, compliance, and operational readiness for global expansion. Manages teams, service providers, vendors, budgets, incidents, technology lifecycles, and infrastructure investments while partnering with security, quality, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Manage end-to-end multi-state payroll processing, including payroll approvals, taxes, deductions, garnishments, reconciliations, accruals, reporting, audits, and year-end activities. Ensure compliance with payroll laws and company policies, maintain controls and records, administer payroll systems, resolve complex employee inquiries, and partner with HR, business leaders, and external vendors.

Leads drafting, reviewing, and negotiating biotechnology, clinical research, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and corporate agreements. Provides legal and compliance guidance across functional teams, supports the contracts management system, delivers training, improves contracting processes, manages multiple projects, and builds cross-functional business relationships within a growing biotechnology legal team.

Lead HR business partnering for R&D and Tech Ops & Quality, delivering strategic HR programs (talent acquisition, performance, compensation, succession, development), advising leaders on org design and change, driving employee relations and engagement, and implementing people processes to support business objectives across US and global organizations.

Supports monthly and quarterly close processes by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial schedules. Provides documentation for internal and external reporting, audits, quarterly reviews, and SOX compliance. Partners with cross-functional teams, improves accounting processes, documents procedures, and handles ad hoc Finance projects while maintaining accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial records.
