Supervise daily production activities to meet volume, cost, waste, and quality targets. Coordinate materials and engineering to resolve line issues, train and monitor line personnel, ensure safety and build book signoffs, and provide supervisor backup and feedback. Use fabrication, welding, painting, and related tools.

Serve as technical gatekeeper between sales and manufacturing: audit and validate custom truck specifications and pricing, resolve configuration conflicts, author change orders, migrate Quote Writer data to Excel, support dealers and Quote Writer team, and ensure production-ready specs prior to manufacturing.

Lead and manage metal fabrication production workflow to meet schedules, quality, and delivery goals. Drive continuous improvement (lean/5S/VSM), enforce safety and quality controls, develop and coach staff, coordinate resources and cross-functional communication, monitor performance metrics, and manage projects using CCPM.

The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop, and test firetruck sub-systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and performing cross-functional collaboration.

A Pre-Finisher installs door sills, rub rails, and other components in fire apparatus, fabricates parts, and performs welding as needed.

Design, develop, and test electrical systems for ARFF firetrucks. Maintain and create electrical schematics and BOMs, support production and technicians, troubleshoot issues, provide programming and assembly guidance, and assist cross-functionally to resolve design and field problems.

Lead design, development, and testing of firetruck subsystems; create prototypes and production-ready designs; ensure regulatory compliance (FMVSS, SAE, NFPA); develop test plans and analyze data; improve manufacturability and supplier selection; resolve cross-functional technical issues and support Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, and Sales.

Coordinate pre-sales activities with dealers: collect bid information, obtain chassis quotes, route specs to draftsmen and pricing, manage dealer presale folders and bid proposal sheets, produce reports (bid bonds, insurance, turn radius, amp), maintain truck files, and communicate completed bid information to dealers. Provide administrative support to ensure accuracy for the Vice President and pre-sale team.

Fabricate and assemble metal bodies for fire apparatus by reading blueprints, welding (MIG/TIG), cutting, sanding, bolting, and mounting bodies and pump houses to subframes. Perform inspections, mount supports, use hand and inspection tools, and assist with other shop duties as required to meet production needs.
