Leads purchasing, warehouse, stockroom, and material-handling operations to ensure timely, cost-effective material availability for manufacturing. Manages purchasing personnel, purchase orders, MRP and inventory systems, supplier relationships, cycle counting, replenishment processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include developing process controls, inspection plans, testing methods, audits, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement. The manager maintains the ISO 9001 quality system, coordinates apparatus testing, oversees Quality Control personnel, manages documentation and training, and collaborates with production, engineering, supply chain, vendors, and other quality teams.

Fabricate and assemble metal bodies for fire apparatus by reading blueprints, welding (MIG/TIG), cutting, sanding, bolting, and mounting bodies and pump houses to subframes. Perform inspections, mount supports, use hand and inspection tools, and assist with other shop duties as required to meet production needs.

Create drawings and BOMs, run simulations and validation tests, ensure regulatory compliance (FMVSS/SAE/NFPA), support production and suppliers, resolve field issues, and participate in cross-functional product and process improvements.

Drive continuous improvement (lean/5S/VSM), enforce safety and quality controls, develop and coach staff, coordinate resources and cross-functional communication, monitor performance metrics, and manage projects using CCPM.

The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop, and test firetruck sub-systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and performing cross-functional collaboration.

A Pre-Finisher installs door sills, rub rails, and other components in fire apparatus, fabricates parts, and performs welding as needed.

Design, develop, and test electrical systems for ARFF firetrucks. Maintain and create electrical schematics and BOMs, support production and technicians, troubleshoot issues, provide programming and assembly guidance, and assist cross-functionally to resolve design and field problems.
