Lead strategic vision and execution for a real-time middleware platform. Responsibilities include client engagement, project planning, product discovery, market and competitive analysis, feature roadmaps, stakeholder communication, resource coordination, go-to-market strategy, product launches, and guiding technical teams across the full project lifecycle.

Support Aerospace and Defense customers across EMEA through technical presentations, software demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP/RFQ responses, and solution architecture. Partner with account managers to achieve sales quotas, develop pipeline, resolve technical blockers, and communicate customer requirements to product management. The role is customer-facing, requires strong C/C++ and networking expertise, travel of approximately 20–40%, on-site work, and EU citizenship.

The Principal Software Research Engineer will lead research in distributed systems, develop innovative solutions, interface with sponsors, and transition research to product development while managing project proposals and reports.

Drive sales of RTI Connext DDS software and services across Europe. Prospect, qualify, and close new commercial customers in sectors like healthcare, renewables, maritime, industrial automation, and robotics. Manage full sales cycle with Field Application Engineers, Product, Customer Success and Marketing; handle pricing, negotiations, forecasting, onboarding, upsells, and territory metrics to meet or exceed quota.

Manage post-sale customer relationships to drive product adoption, retention, and revenue growth. Act as trusted advisor, monitor customer health, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, coordinate with internal teams, and refine customer success playbooks and automation to scale the customer journey.

Lead performance characterization and optimization of RTI Connext: design and run performance tests and benchmarks, model workloads and networks, analyze bottlenecks using profilers (gprof, perf), build CI/CD automated performance pipelines, collaborate with developers, and publish actionable performance results and visualizations.

As a Software Research Engineer, you will innovate solutions, lead projects in distributed systems, and interface with stakeholders. You'll write proposals and transition technologies to products.
