Lead plant-wide continuous improvement to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through root-cause problem solving, Lean deployment, process control, and capability building across hull fabrication, assembly, upholstery, rigging, and finishing. Drive COPQ dashboards, KPIs, kaizen projects, supplier/field feedback closure, and sustainment through standard work and audits.

Lead supplier quality for a boat manufacturing plant: manage supplier selection and audits, incoming inspection, corrective actions (8D/DMAIC/A3), root cause analysis, supplier development, NPI readiness, and scorecard-driven continuous improvement to reduce defects, COPQ, and warranty issues.

Designs, documents, tests, and oversees fabrication of production mold reinforcement, assembly jigs, fixtures, and vessel-assembly tooling. Develops tolerances, process controls, bills of materials, cost estimates, process instructions, and vendor specifications. Audits tool maintenance, supports production issue resolution, trains shop and launch personnel, coordinates with project teams, and manages schedules and milestones while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Spray gelcoat and high-build coatings on plugs and master patterns for composite mold fabrication. Prepare and clean surfaces, operate and maintain spray equipment, verify coating thickness, record material batches, perform spot repairs, and maintain safe, organized work areas. Follow approved fabrication processes, environmental requirements, quality standards, and production schedules. The role requires extensive standing, climbing, kneeling, lifting, PPE use, and work in dusty indoor and outdoor conditions.

Support plant quality and continuous improvement by analyzing quality data, leading root-cause problem solving (8D, A3, 5-Why), developing control plans and inspection methods, supporting incoming/in-process quality and MRB disposition, and aiding new product introductions (APQP/PFMEA). Drive KPI reporting and reduce scrap, rework, and warranty costs through corrective actions and cross-functional collaboration.
