Provides welcoming, professional service to museum visitors by greeting and orienting guests, assisting with ticketing, selling memberships, discussing collections and programs, managing coat check, enforcing policies, responding to emergencies, and maintaining clean visitor spaces. The role requires collaboration across departments, opening and closing procedures, training participation, and availability for weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional special events.

Leads the museum’s Visitor Experience team and oversees daily visitor operations, admissions, ticketing, coat check, wayfinding, crowd management, staffing, scheduling, and service recovery. The role plans for peak attendance, exhibitions, programs, and events; coordinates operational responses; develops staff training and procedures; monitors visitor feedback and attendance; improves systems and workflows; and serves as the primary decision-maker for visitor and operational concerns before escalation.

The Director of People and Culture advises museum leadership on workforce strategy, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and workplace culture. They lead employee and labor relations, including union contract administration, grievances, investigations, arbitration preparation, negotiations, performance management, conflict resolution, and manager coaching. The role also supports policies, training, leadership development, employee retention, compliance, and broader People and Culture initiatives.

Conduct scientific research and analysis to support preservation and interpretation of museum collections. Collaborate with conservators and curators, publish findings, maintain and select laboratory instruments, mentor staff and trainees, assist with budgeting, outreach, and develop departmental resources and collaborations.
