What It's Like to Work at Optimal (formerly Effective Spend)

My coworkers are adept, knowledgeable, and just a total joy to work with. The management team is full of proven leaders who share teachable lessons from their experiences while maintaining an open line of communication for feedback and new ideas.

I'm constantly learning and expanding my skill set here. I've been given many opportunities to explore areas that interest me and my manager has worked with me to improve in new areas. I have holistically improved myself as a professional marketer.

We never hesitate to show off the accomplishments of our fellow Effective Spenders big or small; whether it's a quick High-Five (15Five) on Slack, a shoutout during the big All-Hands meetings, or an impromptu gathering to celebrate achievements.

Our agency gives out annual "Effy Awards" that are peer nominated. Everyone in the company gets to vote. Additionally, our management and leadership team celebrates employee highlights and shoutouts during our weekly company-wide meetings.

Immensely! I started at Effective Spend right out of college with very little experience and have grown tremendously as a digital marketer over the past 2 years I have been with the company.

There's no typical day at Effective Spend, but that's what I love about agency life! There's a lot of variety in the day-to-day which keeps things fresh. On any given day I may be talking with clients about successes and strategy, mentoring my direct reports, collaborating and problem solving with my team members, or all of the above!

I love working on UX recs for client websites; getting in the mind of people to think about how they'd navigate, what they want to know, and how I can get them to click. I also love writing content and watching it climb in Google search results. I'm super competitive so get really excited when I see us move ahead of competitors.
