Designs and optimizes optical systems and modules for high-tech applications. Translates customer requirements into optical concepts, performs Zemax simulations, selects components, and develops prototypes. Integrates, aligns, tests, and validates optical systems throughout the product development cycle. Requires collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and customers, with applications potentially spanning semiconductor, analytical, medical, and photonics markets.

Independently program, set up, and operate CNC turning and multi-tasking machines for small, complex precision series. Determine machining approaches for different products and materials, work to accuracies from 0.01 mm to 5 µm, and transition products from prototype to series production. The role requires extensive CNC turning experience, precision, independence, and Dutch fluency; Okuma experience is advantageous.

Performs post-processing and quality checks on complex turned and milled parts. Responsibilities include dimensional inspection, contamination removal, deburring, packaging, helicoil and insert assembly, and quality testing. The role supports production teams, collaborates with machinists, team leaders, and Quality Engineering, and provides advisory input on manufactured-part quality.

Manage customer projects from quotation and order intake through manufacturing and delivery of complex opto-mechanical systems. Coordinate multidisciplinary manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and engineering teams while achieving quality, logistics, technology, and cost targets. Responsibilities include project planning, risk and change management, stakeholder coordination, customer expectation management, and resolving operational and technical challenges.

Own supplier qualification, auditing, release, and performance monitoring. Validate supplier processes, flow down quality and customer requirements, drive corrective actions (8D), analyze KPIs, coordinate supplier performance meetings, support NPI risk planning, and train colleagues/suppliers on quality tools.

Apprenticeship in precision machining learning CNC, turning and milling, measuring, CNC programming, and reading technical drawings. Two days weekly at school and three days working at NTS with a mentor, paid monthly, travel reimbursement, 40+ days off, and high chance of permanent employment after diploma.

Operate, set up, program (TopSolid or at-control), and optimize CNC lathes (Mikroturn, Mori Seiki, Emco) to produce ultra-precise one-offs and small series. Measure and assure quality to micron tolerances, prepare fixtures and tools, collaborate with engineering, and work in a two-shift team environment.

Provide high-level executive support to the Board at NTS Eindhoven: manage complex international calendars, act as gatekeeper for internal/external stakeholders, organize travel and events, support projects and legal processes (NDAs, contract processing), and monitor priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, technical environment.

Operate, set up, program and optimize 5-axis CNC milling machines (Yasda, Kern, Mikron) using Heidenhain or Fanuc controls and TopSolid 7. Mill compact, high-precision single pieces and small series in exotic materials to ~4 microns, prepare fixtures/tools, measure and ensure quality, and collaborate with engineering and work preparation in a two-shift team.

Manage end-to-end NPI, transfer, and manufacturing projects by creating plans, coordinating engineering/operations/quality/supply chain, mitigating risks, tracking milestones, communicating with customers and suppliers, and ensuring quality, budget, delivery, and successful handover to production.

Lead NPI engineering and project management to deliver new products on time, in scope, and within budget. Develop NPI strategy, manage cross-functional teams, governance, KPIs, budgets, risk mitigation, process improvements, and ensure smooth transition to high-volume manufacturing while interfacing with stakeholders and customers.

Manage daily and mid-term production planning in the ERP system, coordinate lead times and priorities with customers, identify and resolve material or capacity bottlenecks, handle urgent orders and escalations, and collaborate closely with Production, Purchasing, and Sales while being present on the shop floor.

Maintain and improve a stable, efficient production process for high-precision mechatronic assemblies. Provide first-line production support, lead root-cause analyses (8D), implement improvements and tooling (including 3D-printed solutions), manage changes via the Change Control Board, and coordinate technical alignment with customers and suppliers.

Translate customer E-BOMs into production-oriented M-BOMs, maintain article and BOM data in ERP, manage configuration changes, visualize inventory impacts, and collaborate with engineering, supply chain and production to improve logistics processes and data quality.

Manage local tactical procurement, optimizing supplier segmentation, sourcing, and contract strategy. Lead make-or-buy decisions, negotiate framework contracts, ensure ERP/process translation, drive supplier performance and improvement projects, and align delivery reliability, costs, and forecasts with Operations and Global Procurement.

Multiple internship and graduation projects across additive manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and IT support. Work includes thermal FEM modeling, designing 3D-printed fixtures, testing printed part properties, and providing helpdesk support for hardware. Candidates receive guidance, equipment if needed, and work in a high-tech environment.

Lead an assembly department (30–50 staff) in a cleanroom environment, translate production strategy into goals, manage KPIs and staffing, improve lead time and efficiency, coordinate with engineering/quality/procurement, analyze ERP data, and coach team leaders and assemblers.

Plan medium- and long-term production capacity and schedules in the ERP system, align lead times and priorities, detect and resolve material or capacity bottlenecks, manage rush orders, advise production management, set logistical parameters, and frequently coordinate with the shop floor to ensure reliable delivery.

Perform literature study and analyze performance of an interferometric focus sensor lab setup. Propose and verify improvements, redesign for outside-lab use, and, time permitting, build and experimentally validate a prototype.

Set up, program, and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision parts from single pieces to small series. Read drawings and work instructions, perform intermediate and final measurements, carry out preventive machine maintenance, and suggest process improvements while collaborating with colleagues to ensure high-quality production in a two-shift environment.
