Leads an onsite applications team supporting a strategic semiconductor customer. Responsibilities include managing personnel and projects, developing and qualifying metrology applications, troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues, engaging customers, coordinating cross-functional teams, and expanding solution adoption. The role requires advanced technical expertise in semiconductor metrology, hands-on fab experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and up to 25% domestic and international travel.

Coordinates R&D, Engineering, Production, and Service through product release and post-release support. Develop and validate computer vision and image-processing algorithms for advanced imaging systems. Own the roadmap and backlog for optical metrology software, translating customer and business needs into requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development priorities. Lead product and release planning, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risks, and facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.

Lead end-to-end product engineering and NPI activities from conception through prototyping, first article, high-volume manufacturing, and ongoing product support. Ensure manufacturability, sustainability, reliability, and cost reduction across multidisciplinary hardware and software products. Coordinate engineering changes, failure analysis, production tools, and ECO activities while partnering with R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, logistics, purchasing, and service teams.

Designs, builds, tests, and evaluates optical sensor prototypes for semiconductor metrology systems. Conducts laboratory experiments, characterizes optical performance, analyzes data with Python or Matlab, and develops automation tools for processing and visualization. Supports production transfer and continuous improvement of optical sensors while troubleshooting optical, mechanical, electronic, and software issues with cross-functional engineering teams.

Designs complete electrical systems for automated semiconductor metrology equipment, including power distribution, control cabinets, sensors, actuators, wiring, and industrial networks. Selects and integrates automation components, develops machine safety and EMC concepts, and produces electrical documentation in SolidWorks Electrical. Collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams on product development, system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, certification, and field issue resolution.

Designs, develops, simulates, validates, and integrates FPGA architectures and high-performance signal-processing solutions for optical metrology systems. Maintains FPGA implementations on Lattice Semiconductor and Altera platforms, works with digital interfaces and communication protocols, and collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve semiconductor measurement products.

Provides technical and field support for semiconductor metrology systems, including troubleshooting, installation, repair, upgrades, customer training, escalation management, reliability reporting, and service documentation. Coordinates with engineering, operations, field teams, and customers to improve system performance and uptime. Supports new product introductions, beta programs, technical training development, and global customer-site activities.

Own product strategy, requirements, prioritization, commercialization, roadmap, and lifecycle management for semiconductor metrology products in Taiwan. Serve as the customer-site product representative, capture customer needs, coordinate with HQ development teams, support evaluations and demos, manage escalations, lead technical reviews, and contribute to market and competitive analysis. The role requires technical semiconductor expertise, customer-facing communication, and cross-functional leadership.
