Supports the engineering department through assigned school-related projects, data entry, and familiarization with Morbark systems and processes. The intern maintains confidentiality and follows company policies and procedures while gaining practical experience applying classroom knowledge. The program is intended for students in their final or senior year.

Creates and revises mechanical hardware drawings using Solid Edge 3D and AutoCAD 2D. Maintains drafting records, plots drawings, follows company standards and safety procedures, and supports engineering staff. A high school diploma is required; CAD education is preferred, while GD&T and heavy equipment design experience are advantageous.

Improve manufacturing processes through lean methods, technical analysis, time studies, process troubleshooting, and facility layout planning. The role addresses safety, quality, ergonomics, cycle time, production flow, tooling, equipment, assembly, and material fabrication issues. Responsibilities include implementing engineering changes in JD Edwards, maintaining bills of material and routings, calculating labor costs, and collaborating on automation, robotics, and digital tool initiatives.

Manufacturing Engineer analyzes, designs, and improves manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, assembly methods, and production systems. The role troubleshoots process issues, validates cycle times, leads improvements, calculates labor and manufacturing costs, supports new product implementation, responds to customer concerns, coaches production personnel, and coordinates with suppliers on specifications, quality, and equipment or material purchases.

Develop and support embedded software and control systems for industrial equipment. Design control logic, algorithms, PID loops, operator interfaces, diagnostics, and integrations across electrical and hydraulic systems. Collaborate with engineering teams, simulate and debug software, validate machine performance, troubleshoot control issues, and implement corrective solutions. The role includes hands-on prototype shop and field work, equipment testing, documentation, and occasional travel.
