Support development and operation of trade compliance program focusing on export controls for software, encryption, and technology classification. Perform classification, encryption review, license determination and submissions, end-use/end-user verifications, recordkeeping, audits, and cross-functional coordination with legal, engineering, and business teams.

Provide expert legal advice on U.S. export controls (EAR/ITAR), manage and operate the export control program, lead classification (ECCN), licensing and deemed export submissions, conduct audits and recordkeeping, advise engineering and executives on technology transfers and encryption, represent the company before regulators, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver training and risk assessments.

Provide legal support across contracts, IP, data privacy, AI, employment, litigation, regulatory and trade compliance. Counsel engineering and product teams, draft and negotiate tech agreements, manage IP and privacy issues, support export controls and vehicle data matters, and assist with litigation and general corporate governance for a temporary 4–6 month engagement.

Serve as technical compliance advisor bridging legal and engineering to identify, analyze, and mitigate software and regulatory risks (AI, ADS/ADAS, export). Research standards, translate requirements into scalable processes and automated solutions, prepare commodity classifications, support trainings, and perform technical analyses for regulatory submissions.

Lead AD/ADAS testing programs to improve automotive systems in North America, manage beta programs, and provide technical input for market adaptations.

Lead design, development, and maintenance of the Mercedes me iOS app (phone and Apple Watch), implement connected-car integrations, ensure performance and security, collaborate cross-functionally, mentor junior engineers, support CI/CD and App Store publishing, and drive feature architecture and quality for North American customers.
